our filly

Hey hey hey, what do you know? She was pregnant!! Our beautiful mare Peaches had her baby girl sometime in the early hours of Thursday morning, July 6, 2006. We have NO idea what she weighs, but she has a beautiful dark complexion and slightly wavy tail. She is already prancing about and is curious about her new world. Her new legs are somewhat wobbly, but she gets around just fine. We are very excited over here, but are a bit dissapointed that our dd had to miss it - but she's home from camp on Saturday, so she'll see the filly then. Once she's home from camp we will set ourselves to naming our new addition. She is soooo pretty! I love it when she's eating and then she comes up for air and her nose is covered in foamy milk. That's a good sign!!! Mom is quite protective right now, she was really relaxed about everything for most of the first day, but maybe now the hormones are kickin' in and she's feeling a wee bit cranky. She's a good mom, only cranky with us spectators.

I say a protective mom is ALLLLLL good. Good ole' Peaches and me might have a lot more in common as our babes grow. :) Look out strangers!!!!!!!
