I love teaching...

I am very impressed with my students! My grade 2 kids just came up with a wonderful poem...we are talking about couplets and they were all soooo into it! Every now and then you teach a lesson and go, "Wow! That was awesome!" Today was one of those days. Each single one of them had eager, excited faces, and as we got further down our poem, their faces lit up even more. Today I really, really love teaching! Without further ado, here's their poem...it probably won't excite anyone as much as it does me, but nonetheless....

SPRINGTIME
I love the rain...
when we go across the lane,
I feel it dropping on my head,
and then I think of flowers red.
Flowers need the rain to grow,
and they need the sun to glow.
I like the sun and April showers,
that bring us newly growing flowers.
What bright little minds!

My little A. is constantly rhyming things and making up songs and poems. I hope she has a teacher like you someday who inspires her to let it all out and then gets super excited about it.

great poem by the way...

I love your litte A (your little E is quite wonderful too) She has such a sense of herself and not afraid to share it! I think lots of kids "know" who they are - but some are just so GOOD at letting others know who they are! It also helps if mothers encourage their daughters to continuously discover themselves...bravo.
