okay, I looked up the recipezaar site that Miss M, recommended on her site, and have to admit that it all looks very yummy, and makes me wish I could step outside my pilsbury dough box...just an aside..did you know you can make almost anything if you have pilsbury dough stuff? anyway, then I come across this picture and get kinda irritated. These kind of pictures ALWAYS irritate me! They make me feel guilty for not being "Miss becky homecky"! I don't - may I repeat - DON'T need more guilt in my life. If I'm looking over one of those cookbooks that salepeople always leave in our staffroom, and I inevitably see one of "those" pictures - I can't help it but I feel grumpy instantaneously! ...and here's a real kicker! My lovely oh so sweet daughter comes home the other day and says "A and J and R all were wondering why I always have store bought bread and store bought cookies in my lunch. They always have homemade stuff." OH MY WORD!!!!!!!! If looks could kill, the KD I was cooking would be very dead! I very sweetly said, "Oh, I'm sorry dear. I'm sorry I'm not as perfect as ALL the other moms!!!" I know, not very well done of me, but I was a little ticked! Good Gravy! Like being home all summer and having a horse and taking them camping etc etc isn't enough!!! She realised the error of comparing me with other mothers and was appropriately apologetic...at least she knows what's good for her! sheeeeesh! take a look at that picture, will ya!!!! who actually makes these things anyways! these pictures are always under "ideas for hard to please kids.." My thinking is, if you don't like it, I'm sure at some point you'll get hungry enough and eat it!!! ha.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wm, I laughed and laughed at your post! I know maybe I shouldn't have, I'm so glad you can stand up for yourself. (And hey...no guilty feelings ok?) "Hard to please kids" will eat that? YEAH RIGHT!
Love the wit in this one! Love it!
BTW-nothing wrong with Pillsbury....
Oh my word I'm laughing so HARD!!! WM!!! I MADE THAT!!!!! Oh yes I did!!! LOL!!! Now I just cannot stop laughing. I needed this post today. :)
Well...talking about not making homemade food (cookies and bread, etc...). Yesterday @ HC, we had a brunch potluck and I felt sooo incredibly stupid and guilty because we were the only ones who didn't have anything made at home, we bought cinnamon buns. Ok, so what is my excuse for not having made anything from scratch?!?! I don't have a new born at home, I don't have to work plus go to school like other people. I need to step it up a notch - there is no excuse for me. Does this mean I am lazy? My priority on Sat. was packing and cleaning my house but in my mind all I could think about was how I should have made the time to make something instead of buying something. WM, I know how you feel.
WM, you are too funny!!!! I too just LOL while reading your post this morning. Screw guilt, you don't EVER have to feel guilty about what food you send to school with your kids! YOU ROCK WM!!!

you guys are HILARIOUS! I have to add something here, After P read this blog (which he hardly ever does) he says to me "so who do you think put her up to apologising? ME!!! and you think I never notice anything.." So she didn't think it up on her own...oh well...the fact that P noticed that one was in order is just as good!
...and I CAN'T beleive you MADE that miss M!!!!! HA! THAT made ME laugh unil I almost cried!
